Paper Toast

Happy Aloha Friday!

I have decided to separate my origami crafts from my beaded accessories by opening Paper Toast on Etsy. I've found that origami is a relaxing way for me to fill in the time between bead orders and I'm hoping it'll keep me busy during those lull periods. I'm currently working on custom orders on both sides and I'm having so much fun! I'm lucky to love what I do :)

Toilet Paper Roll Gift Wrapping

The crafter's 3Rs = Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse. Sometimes this thought leads to hoarding issues. Why am I keeping all those empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls? Gift wrapping of course!

You Will Need

- Toilet Paper or Paper Towel Roll
- Decorative Paper
-Washi Tape (optional)
- scissors, glue, double sided tape, stapler

Ready to roll?

Cut paper to fit over your roll with a little extra for overlap. My paper measures 6 x 6 inches.

Wrap paper around roll using double side tape to secure. Sides should extend over the roll.

Tuck in sides and glue down.

Squish side flat and staple close to edge.

Add your gift into the roll.

Squish flat open end in the opposite direction and staple to seal.

Hide stapled edge with washi tape or more decorative paper.

Finished piece will look like this.

but...use prettier paper and perhaps add some decoration.

The End.

Animals on Chains

Happy Friday!

Here are my newest projects.

I decided to make use of the chains I have on hand and make some bracelets. I'm not sure if I'll continue to make this line of bracelets but I had fun making these.

Have a great weekend!

Blossom the Bulldog

Meet Blossom the beaded bulldog.

* Not much into long walks, Blossoms prefers to enjoy the view while swaying gently around your neck as a pendant.
* The rumble and vibration of car rides makes for great naps. Hang Blossom around your key ring so she can keep you company while you drive around town.
* As a bag charm, she'll try her best to scare away would be purse snatchers.
* Keep Blossom as a phone charm. She's a very social animal and may want to chat with your friends.

Origami Gift Envelope

Beading and origami paper folding go hand in hand. When my eyes get tired from beading, I take a break and fold.

How to Ladder Stitch - Animated Video

My first animated video demonstrating the ladder stitch. Nothing fancy but hopefully helpful. The ladder stitch is usually the first row stitched in my brick stitch bead weaving designs.
